hello,
I am italian and live in america.
Italy loves tamiya mini4wd.
I am big fan of all mini4wd, tamiya and no tamiya.
I created a dr. buzz car.
may i have your opinion?
i use okami type 4 motor.
Welcome to our forum!
Thank you!
I hope that i am not a problem to everyone (i don't speak japanese...sorry).
old trycicle
The material i used was free . I use cad drawing and cut by hand.
I hope to improve.
Welcome
I`m not good at english (study hard now)
Though we use different languoge, but I wish we can make a good friend
Sorry to make many languoge mistake......
And... you not needs now japanese, becauss we speak chinese...
Welcome, hobbes!
What a great work you've done to sign up with out knowing Japanese!
But , actually, all the characters on this web site are Chinese.
I'm the administrator of this forum. To Build up a international sub-forum in English will be considered into the plan of this year.
I can't see your pics on geocities.com. Our goverment set up a great network firewall to prevent some international traffic, and geocities.com is involved in the forbidden list.
To let all of us see your pics, just press the "Browse" button above where you type the message (I don't know what it looks like in Italian platform). Browse your harddisk to locate the pics. And then press the small button on the left side of the "Browse" botton. After a while, your pics will be uploaded on to our web server, and some lines representing your pics will be added to your announcement automatically. Each pic should be less than 100 KBytes, which is commonly in size of 640*480 pixels.
China is a great place for travelling, and we also hold up a national champion once a year. The record is 45.48 pieces per second , where "piece" stands for the trace length of one standard tamiya mini4wd track. I think you have already seen the video on Wikipedia. So if it is possible, come here and have a great time with us.
I apologize for the mistake. Unfortunately my computer does not recognize the symbols and replaces them with odd computer text.
I am glad to have found such an excellent english speaker among you great racers. It will make communication easier :).
I hope not to be a bother to everyone in the forum with my english speaking.
I live in America and i'm 20, but when i'm older (and can afford it), i will DEFINITELY come to china to race one day.
I hope we can make a good friendship and i hope to learn alot from everyone in this forum.
My machine is a replica of Dr. Buzz 1999 trycicle. I built it by hand and it handles the track perfectly. It is fast for american standards, but it is slow compared to the videos on wikipedia.
I am especially amazed of the car in the shanghai video. It completes 3 laps in less than 6 seconds. Have you seen that car?
This car is not enough strong...
And I`m 20 too
Hi 南健
which part is car not strong enough?
thank you for your help!
do you have picture of your car?
http://www.tcfans.org/bbs/dispbbs.asp?boardID=15&ID=1450
Now, I only have this one use to test trucks... because I think above all, I need make the pro tools with make and setting cars. And this car is by hand too
Run cloveleaf junction... many people in china thinks that is the suffering.
I think your chassis is not enough strong.
In chanese player`s consept, the car want fast that must be very very stong...
And you`d better use NI-CD battery, because on output NI-CD is stronger than NI-MH in general.
Please visit China !If you visit there,You'll learn a lot!hoho~~~~~my English is not good ,Sorry.Welcome to our home------TCfans!
Great job!
What 南健 meant "strong" could be tested easily by this way:
Grasp both side of your car by hand and try to twist.
The general rule is that the faster the car is, the less it could be twisted.
Areca King, the legend racer, made his car strong and could be twisted only 2~5 degrees in angle (with out destroy it).
The "strong" rule is aimed to reduce the loss of energy and add reliability to the cars while running in crooked tracks.
I'm 24 this year and facing the same problem like yours. May be I'll go America some day.
Nice to have a foreign friend in the forum!
The performance of your car in the first video is good, especially with the trans-bridge over the track!
But now a day's in China, more and more racers challenge the track called "Dragon King", which is much harder than yours.
Have a try and you will find the fun!
All the records (pieces/second) we are talking is made in these kind of tracks.
The car in shanghai video is not very fast for two reasons:
1. The track is short, which makes it look faster.
2. The track is only with three "8"s (you can see "8"s in the track of Dragon King).
The fastest car is this one:
Which finish 12 "8"s Dragon King within 12 seconds,
The track is made of 181 pices of standard tamiya tracks, so the speed is above 45 pices/second.
Here is the car:
And now, could you calculate your speed in pieces/second?
Thank you!
Your information is very interesting and helpful!
I should use Nickel Cadmium? I thought these high power motors needed alot of endurance. I will switch to Nickel Cadmium. What batteries do you recommend? Are Sanyo or Panasonic good?
Is Areca King the owner of that machine?
Yes my car will bend a good 5-6 degrees. It is because the materiale is PC-board, and is not as strong as frp or c-frp.
I will build a new one as soon as i have some time. I will make front arms stronger.
If i may ask:
what company makes those beautiful, colorful track peices? is it Auldely? We are stuck with the tamiya gray parts and we would love to see colorful tracks, too :)
I'm sorry for all these question...i'm very curious about your wonderful machines and tracks.
What are your race rules?
Next time i go to the race track, i will measure the track length and time.
The track is 1 hour from my house by car.
They never change the track :(

Sanyo si better than Panasonic.
This truck is made by “天豪”,老徐 is the manager.
Areca King`s car is this one

哇。。。各位英文水平好高啊。。。
Well, let me see...
The choise between NiCd and NiMH can be followed by the current rules:
The "best" NiCd battery in the world is Sanyo KR-1100AAU with yellow package
They also have a green one but the maximum current it could support is smaller.
KR-1100AAU could provide more than 30 amps of current in the first several seconds when discharging.
Then the performance is similar with other NiCd and NiMH batteries, the current is over 20 but less than 30.
But NiMH batteries have larger capacities to afford a long time discharge.
So the track length sould be take into account.
All these NiCd and NiMH batteries should be manufactured with large current support.
While some batteries for portable application have large capacities, they don't support large current.
Areca King is a Taiwan racer and made his records of 43.xx pieces/second, not the 45 one.
But his track is different with transfer of a centrifugal one.
This hurts speeds a lot.
So we also consider that his the fastest guy either.
The photo of him and his machine is provided by 南健.
The 45 piece/second record is made by Cai, he's Chinese, live in Xiamen.
PC board is not ideal, but the structure is important.
When you get your new material, may be a better structure will make your car stronger.
The track are 天豪 manufactured, it's English is Tian Hao.
It's a professional track race company.
The track's weight is 800g per piece, to support the high speed of 40 pieces/second.
Our rule is very simple:
1. 130 motor
2. 2 AA batteries
3. The car could be put into the track, and the highest point should below the the top edge of the track.
All other rule is unlimited. So we call it Unlimited Race.
i really appreciate all this help, and you're english perfect :)
Thank you for the battery information, i will search for those batteries as soon as possible.
The reason i used pc board is because it is free. It was an old computer motherboard. I cannot find any store or website that offers frp or c-frp. How do you get your material?
This is my fifth attempt to a 3wd machine and the first to work well and still be "alive"...all other machines were weak, slow, heavy, and eventually broke.
I based design on Dr. Buzz machines http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown/3279/ using a cad drawing i found on his website. Dr. Buzz 1999 Cad
I am sure my next machine will be much improved compared to this one, and your teachings will be very helpful. :)
I noticed your machines have smaller diameter rollers on bottom, instead of having 8 rollers with the same diameter. Is this to improve cornering speed? Does the machine become more instable?
In the location i race, we have a banked curve. Would you recommend that setup or is it too dangerous?
This machine (by dr. buzz) has no gears...the wheel are directly connected to the motor. It is an extremely fast setup. Why do you prefer not to use it? You're tracks are very long.
Thank you again.
In time we can build a strong friendship (hopefully we can meet at one of your big races, one day )
We must use gears.
Because on that way 130 motor don`t have enaugh strength to inpuls cars.
I think that TYPE is not use to run in "zig-zag" trucks.
Yes, you had a great study on our machines!
The smaller diameter rollers on bottom is one of the great inventions by Areca King.
It's do take effect on cornering.
The principle is like standing a pencel.
When you lean it to a wall, it'll be more easy.
And, the heavier the pencil is, the more pressure the wall will have.
In our tracks, the faster the car is in corner, the "heavier" it will look like.
So the bottom of the track (in the pencil case is the wall) will have more pressure delivered by the tire.
If you watch F1 or other car race, you'll understand what pressure on tire means. Think about the wings on those cars
But, all of the above is based on stable connection of the rollers and the track (in the pencil case is the bottom of the pencil and the ground).
So we always use aluminium rollers to make the car "stuck" in the track.
This kind of technique is called "Tai Jiao". In English, "lift foot".
Banked curve is considered more difficult and the speed in it will be slower than Gragon King.
But we don't have standard curve tracks. The Auldely one is awful, will three tracks having difference width.
Your pics on geocities is miss on my computer.
May be I'll find a web proxy to see them later.
But I think the gear problem will be more easily understanding for your Americans.
Can you drive now? I'm 24, but I can't.
China is a developing country and cars are not as popular as in America.
Any way, I guess you can drive.
Then, do you know why cars have gear-boxes? And why you should kickdown when the car is at lower speed?
Look at the tachometer on the car may be you will find the answer.
Our motors and the engines on the cars have same characteristic to work at a given rotate speed.
Either faster or slower will lead to more heat and make the efficiency poor.
The gear on our track is the way to make the motor working at the proper rotate speed.
When the ratio of the gear is about 2:1, we found it work most efficiently.
If you have your motor work most efficiently at the ratio of 1:1, the gears will be useless.
But this will be more difficult to achieve.
So we still use our gears.
The blue and the pink curves are what we concern.
Blue one is efficiency , should be concerned in long tracks.
Pink one is output power, is more important in short tracks.
Very glad to have the first foreign friend on the forum. We will help you to build the machine as fast as we can.
Hello everyone! I'm back
sorry for not coming into the forum, but i had alot of school work and problems.
I am working on a new machine and a tutorial with 100 pictures which shows how to build the machine (for my italian friends).
It is not completed yet, but you will find some of the pictures here:
http://www.forumfree.net/?t=7015880
I use traditional "same width" on all 8 roller, because the track which i race requires more stability rather than speed.
This is only my second machine, so it is still not perfect...it takes time and practice to improve .
I hope to here from you soon!

英语啊……我最头疼了……
Only second...
You are very good at DIY~
Ask a doubt, what moter do you use?
And do you buy SANYO battery now?
Battery is the first important with TCCAR.

抱歉 :D
I use old computer mother board. I do not know what company it is? :p
What does TC mean in TCcar?
Good Sanyo batteries are not available at the moment, but i will by them when i get a chance.
This is new car: 90% complete. Not test run yet.
This is design for car #3 :D
Hei , I'm Dick lzl. Let's make a friend.
Do you have MSN??
yes :D

I want to learn to build motors
do you have good pictures of motor assembly?
I have 22 gauge wire. Is this good?
Had a look this teaching by 老徐. Is the best teaching with build motor
Mabye,you can`t understanding.
I advice you fetch a friend can reading chinese.
